Before discussing our upcoming race weekend at Infineon Raceway, I want to share a brief recap of our experience at our last race weekend May 19-20 at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA.

It was one of mixed results for the  Life’s Good Racing!TM team.  First, the good news…  We were able to add to our string of undefeated outings in Time Trials Unlimited (TTU) as we dominated the field with the 69 Camaro in spite of the heat  throughout the weekend.  Huge thanks to Hawk Performance for giving us infinite confidence in our braking abilities (not just in the 69 Camaro, but in the other two cars as well), and to Hoosier Tires, for incredible traction.  That was the good part of the mixed results.

The other big news from the weekend was the on-track debut of the Camaro Stock Car during testing on Saturday and in the Enduro race, competing in ES class.  “Out of the box” the Camaro was wicked fast, according to Dave, who took it out for its maiden run around Thunderhill.  It would have also been a formidable competitor in the race had it not been for an electrical charging issue, which ended the day prematurely.

Also of note, was the addition of Nick Steel to the Life’s Good Racing!TM team as Nick was to share driving roles in the Camaro Stock Car with Dave and myself.  Nick is a multi-championship winner in many forms of competition. His most recent auto racing was in Camaro-Mustang Challenge where he proved to be a formidable competitor for the Life’s Good Racing!TM team.  Nick is currently competing in road bike racing in Southern California, but has also competed on motorcycles.  We prefer to have Nick on our side!!! Welcome Nick!

And now on to the upcoming weekend…  Infineon Raceway, our home track is the venue for this coming weekend’s race where we will be competing in USTCC in the Lancer.  WORKS is aggressively working to prep the Lancer for this event in their typical, professional manner with a keen attention to detail.  Much appreciation goes to the entire WORKS team for their time and energy to give us the best power-plant available.

In addition to the Lancer, we will be running the 69 Camaro in Time Trials Unlimited as well as getting some track time in the Camaro Stock Car as we prepare for our next WERC race at Buttonwillow Raceway the following weekend.  As usual, this will be another busy one!

Also as usual, we enjoy seeing our fans at the track…. which means you!  Should you have an interest in coming out and seeing us, please drop by and mention you saw the site and read this column.  You will surely enjoy it.

See you at the races!
