Press Release, October 1, 2015: Life’s Good Racing!TM of Northern California is very pleased to announce the expansion of our racing team to include racing in Australia and New Zealand! Our new counterpart “Down Under” will be called just that, Life’s Good Racing!TM Down Under or LGRDU!
The new team will be run by our Australian connection and dear friend Perry Scarfe. Perry is the National Manager for Business Development for Australian national chain store Tyres4U with its main office located in New South Wales. Perry is also a very accomplished road racer and he and his driving partner, Dean Perkins, will be entering their first event of the new race season Sunday, October the 4th in Christchurch NZ at Mike Pero Motorsports Park. Dean Perkins, better known in AU/NZ racing circles as “Wildman Dean Perkins” is a long time road racer who is well known for his driving prowess as he was at one time a factory team driver for GT Radials. Recently Dean has been tearing up the tarmac in his vintage Ford Falcon.
We met Perry and Dean at an event at Sonoma a few years ago when they were passing through California on their way to Lavonia Michigan to buy a new motor for one of Dean’s cars directly from Jack Roush. They were more than impressed with our #69 and #96 Camaros and invited usto compete with them in the vintage V8 supercar series that spans NZ and AU and plans are being developed to do jut than, along with our southern hemisphere compatriots competing with us in endurance racing here in the US.
Perry and Dean will be racingin the “ASKO” South Island Endurance Racing Series three hourenduro in their highly modified #18 Ford Falcon V8 Supercar sponsored by Carter’s Tyre Service. Their Falcon used to run in the world famous Australian V8 Super Car Series. And yes, the brightly painted blue racer will be adorned with the red oval shaped Life’s Good Racing!TM logo stickers.
Please stay tuned for updates on our new team and how you can keep track of their progress during the season and additional updates on LGRDU!
