Team Life’s Good Racing!TM announces 2014 USTCC lineup for opening round, a two hour Enduro, at Buttonwillow Raceway April 5

We are proud to announce this weekend’s lineup for the USTCC opening round, in addition to both a new driver and new addition to the team.

Beau Borders has a deep and varied racing resume which includes multiple wins in the highly competitive Formula Mazda Series, three ARRC Championships at Road Atlanta, and a victory at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.  Having also competed in Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge, Beau will be sharing his seat time with USTCC and the F2000 Championship series during the 2014 series.  Beau will be heavily travelled this year from his home base is Venice Beach, CA, as his “day job” of Sound Mixing for Hollywood films keeps him quite busy. He recently achieved an Academy Award nomination for his work on the film Lone Survivor.  Beau will be piloting the #21 2004 Lexus IS300 which Mark McManus brings with him to the Life’s Good Racing!TM Team.  Welcome Beau!

Mark McManus, formerly of N1 Racing, has joined Team Life’s Good Racing!TM to run the Marketing function.  Mark is no stranger to both professional and amateur racing having cut his teeth in Spec Miata from 2005 when he achieved Rookie of the Year and continued to race through the 2008 season.  Subsequently, he competed in SCCA’s ITE up until joining NASA and then running the professional US Touring Car Series in 2013.   As a rookie, he piloted his Lexus IS300 this last season in USTCC to an impressive 8th  place for the season out of 24 drivers.  Additionally, Mark can be credited with leading the recent return of Lexus Corporation to US motorsports with coordination of a three car team during this last December’s USAF 25 Hours of Thunderhill.   Welcome Mark!

The remaining team car line-up is as follows:

Mario Lento will be piloting the #10 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart in his debut 2014 USTCC race.  Coming off of two consecutive NASA ST3 wins at Sonoma Raceway March 15 and 16, Mario has shown his skill at throwing this all-wheel drive rocket ship around the track.  In “the Mario’s” words, “I’m counting the minutes.”

Karl Chicca, team principal, will be piloting the #12 BMW M3.  This will be a change from last year’s USTCC-GT class seat where Karl muscled the team’s 2012 #96 Camaro to a 5th place overall position for the season.

Dave Brown, 2nd place Season Finisher in USTCC in 2013 in the above-referenced M3, will be driving the team’s #96 Camaro both in the USTCC opener as well as in the 3 Hour WERC race that will run concurrently.  No stranger to high horsepower, Dave holds 20 National titles in myriad machines ranging from Touring Car to American Stock Car and TransAm.

As always, Team Life’s Good Racing!TM will be proudly displaying our partners’ flags during this event including, HAWK Performance, Competition Clutch, WORKS Motorsports, San Rafael Mitsubishi, Big O Tire Dublin, Supertech, and Red Line.
