The Life’s Good Racing!TM team is instituting new looks across the board. From a new website, courtesy of EMCEE Creations, to a new car in a new series. 2012 is going to be an exciting season as we embark upon new adventures and look to conquer new horizons. We are beyond excited about the year we have ahead for us, which we could not achieve without the fantastic support from our sponsors. Returning this year is Hawk Brakes, supplier of the highest quality and reliability pad on the market. We are proud to represent Hawk and continue to fly their banner high wherever we are.

Additionally, we continue to receive support from the finest and most respected Mitsubishi professionals anywhere, WORKS Motorsports and San Rafael Mitsubishi. WORKS Motorsports has been aggressively working to optimize the powerplant in the Life’s Good Racing!TM Lancer while San Rafael Mitsubishi continues to find key components for our program. Each are pros, providing outstanding service and support. If you own a Mitsubishi you owe it to yourself to look them up.
AIP Electronics (All Ignition) is again under the hoods of each of our vehicles to ensure we have the spark needed to get to the front and stay there. AIP supplies all of the power electronic needs for performance and street cars such as distributors, sensors, alternators and more. They have a professional team available to provide advice and to support your needs.
Following is a brief rundown on each of the programs we have underway for the 2012 season:
First, and absolutely foremost, let’s discuss USTCC. The season begins with a two hour endurance race at Infineon Raceway on March 11. This race will be the first time the Life’s Good Racing!TMTM Mitsubishi Lancer competes for more than one hour. We are very optimistic as off-season testing has been promising, however late breaking rules changes will necessitate some added testing prior to the all important first competition. The enduro will be exciting as it tests not only the drivers–both Dave and I–but also tests the entire team, as enduro racing is absolutely a team event requiring pit stops, a first for us.
Next up is the #69, crowd-pleasing 1969 Camaro, affectionately referred to as “The Beast.” We ran the Camaro in the first NorCal NASA event two weeks ago at Infineon in TTU (Time Trials) and pulled down first places in the Unlimited Class in each run. We were trying 335 Hoosiers in the rear for the first time and had lots of work on our hands with chassis adjustments. Needless to say, the car was hooked up in the rear with these “steam rollers”. However, we felt the motor starting to lose some of its punch, so we have pulled it and are having it rebuilt. Here’s a picture of The Beast, sans motor.
Finally, the breaking news this season is the addition to the Life’s Good Racing!TM stable in the form of a brand new Fifth Generation Camaro-bodied Stock Car that will compete in NASA’s Western Endurance Racing Championships (WERC). Here is an image of how the car will appear when completed. It has a Howe chassis and new Howe body-work, a rebuilt GM crate motor, Jerico four speed transmission, 15″ steel wheels, and Wilwood brakes on all four corners. This car promises to be a real barn burner.
2012 also holds in store for the Life’s Good Racing!TM team its first opportunity to race at an FIA sponsored, professional event as US Touring Car competes during the same weekend as World Touring Car Championships (WTCC) at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) September 21 – 23. This is further significant as it marks the first time WTCC has EVER raced in the United States and we have the good fortune to compete that same weekend. See an image of the event flyer from Infineon Raceway on our website home page. Here’s to a fantastic 2012!
